Thank you so much for your comment Natalie! I have received a surprising amount of supportive feedback since I started researching this topic. It seems to resonate with many people. What is also surprising is the lack of academic research that has been done on the subject. I am currently perusing Richard Florida's Who's Your City, in which he analyses the relationship between the place where we live and happiness. More on that in a future post!

Hello Flavie!

I found out about your blog and website through Landscapes | Paysages. I am the one that pops French or Englisgh content into an InDesign file to make a web-ready article to accompany that which was published in print. Anyway :)

I want to thank you for this very honest post. For years people have been telling me that I would LOOOVE Vancouver. But for some reason, I have never shared their sentiments. Granted, I have visited only a few times, and not for very long... but as you articulated, it just doesn't offer the same feeling that Montreal or even Toronto gives me.

We are of the same demographic (with the one exception being that I am Canadian, you are French) and I hear so few people nay saying Vancouver that it just feels nice to hear that somebody gets it.

At this point, I have no ideas, hypothesis or advice... merely empathy. I'm just beginning to delve into your blog - please keep the words flowing :)

Regards,
Natalie
