Thanks Brandon! Regarding national identity, I think it's a bit more than food and language. France stands for a number of social and cultural values that I strongly identify with. And knowing and celebrating where I come from really makes me stronger. But I totally get your point!

Bravo!

I totally agree on 2 points:

1. National identity is now meaningless, except for sentimental reasons. It's our food and language, but that's all. Young people are more and more cosmopolitan now. Excepting some backward-looking regions (and we both know where these are : ) most people are embracing the common "language" that globalised cities provide.

2. The Middle Ages were no darker than any other time period in Western history.

Good article!

You really have so many knowledge about this issue, and also so much passion. You actually know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. And you have got a design here that is not too flashy, but it's makes a statement as big as what you are saying.

Personally living in Nelson [however not a coffee drinker] I can agree with most of what you say, especially the small town 'everyone know every one' and everyone is 'just a little bit crazy'. We also all love to play in the mountains anytime of the year - Nelson is the epicentre of winter adventure and backcountry skiing is key- if you live here and don't drink coffee you better ski your ass off.
[for more info on the backcountry skiing options give a read here: www.backcountryskiingcanada.com
